Japanese denim mills are undeniably the leaders in selvedge jean production. So French company Helstons has teamed up with Japanese brand Shinichiro Arakawa to give you the Arakawa 15oz red selvedge jeans. The Japanese canvas they’ve used is set apart from regular denim by perfectly finished piping (in the traditional red colouring), greater thickness, more density and therefore better durability. These jeans will take on a nice aged look over time, but if you want them to keep their colour for longer, it’s recommended to delay the first wash as long as you can (washing the jeans inside out), then spacing out washes. This will also allow the denim to mold faster to your body shape, giving you even more all-day comfort.
